Former employees of Armenia’s Nairit plant are holding a rally at the government headquarters (Government House), demanding a meeting with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan to discuss the restart of the plant and payments of additional sums accumulated due to the salary delay, Armenian media outlets report.

“If the Nairit plant is restarted, we will have a stable income, and we will be able to take care of our families,” one of the plant’s employees said. “We have worked for 34 years and now live in misery.”

The former employees said that in order to get salaries, they were forced to sign an agreement stating that they refuse the extra money accumulated as the result of wage arrears, and now they also demand these additional sums.
