(Press Service of Lithuania) - The President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus met Serzh Sargasyan, the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of defence were discussed.
The President V. Adamkus was interested about the situation in the Region of South Caucasus and emphasised that the security of this region is of importance to Lithuania as well as to the international community as a whole.
The countrys President expressed hope that this year will bring new possibilities for settling the problem of Nagorno-Karabach. The President assured that the international community will devote adequate attention to this matter.
