Georgian Combat Engineers Demine ‘Gifts’ of Russian Troops

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend , corr N. Kirtskhalia/ The Georgian combat engineers has started clearing the military base in Gori from mines. The Russian troops have left many 'gifts' in the form of mined places, the Georgian law enforcement agencies said.

Mines even in the center of the city were also cleared.

The police called on refugees not to return to Gori until all buildings are checked up after which authorities of Tbilisi said they are ready to help all citizens of the city to return to the city stage-by-stage by buses.

The Georgian police have taken a full control over Kaspi, Karushi and Kareli. The police asked the city to refrain from driving in Gori-Tbilisi motorway as too busy traffic can create certain problems.

The traffic on the motorway from west to east of Georgia has been fully restored.
