Georgian President to Speak at UN General Assembly Tomorrow

Georgia, Tbilisi, 22 September / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is expected to speak at the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly on 23 September, Georgian delegation reported from New York.

Georgian delegation led by Saakashvili left for New York on 19 September. Georgian FM Ekaterine Tkeshelashvili joined them on 21 September. She had been participating in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Toronto.

Tkeshelashvili will meet with CE Secretary General Terry Davis and European Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner on 22 September.  

According to Georgian experts, in his speech President Saakashvili will focus on the causes of Georgia-Russia conflict, which took place in August 2008. Russia will try to achieve withdrawal of UN mission from Abkhazia. However, the United States will definitely veto the decision.
