On May 1 Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri left for Indonesia on a working visit, where the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank will take place.
During the visit, there will be signed an agreement to provide $90 million to rehabilitate the road infrastructure, Prime Minister said before departure at the Tbilisi airport. In addition, $30 million will be provided for the Municipal Development Fund, which envisages municipal projects in the region.
"These funds are not allocated for the banking sector, but negotiations will be held on this issue. The Asian Development Bank has its own institutions, which work exclusively on the banking sector, and we will work to ensure that assistance is provided to the banking sector as well," said Gilauri .
He said that talks also will take place on investing $200 million in Georgia in 2009. "In addition, financial aid in 2010 will be topic of discussions. I also want to thank the Asian Development Bank that the budgetary aid actually grows from $40 million to $70 million," said Prime Minister.
During his visit, Gilauri is expected to meet with the President of Asian Development Bank Haruhiko Kuroda and the bank governors.
This year, Georgia was first elected as Vice Chairman of Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank, and accordingly, the Prime Minister of Georgia will chair one of meetings of the Board.
