The Georgian parliament has upheld the Parliamentary Interim Commission's conclusions about the circumstances surrounding the death of first President Zviad Gamsakhurdia. Parliament asked the Prosecutor's Office to resume the investigation.

The Georgian parliament has upheld the Parliamentary Interim Commission's conclusions about the circumstances surrounding the death of first President Zviad Gamsakhurdia. Parliament asked the Prosecutor's Office to resume the investigation.

Seventy-five deputies unanimously adopted the resolution recommending the Prosecutor's Office to establish the cause of the ex-president's death.

According to preliminary information, the committee ruled out suicide during its investigation.
The commission has also recommended reopening the investigation into the case. The conclusion included examinations, photographic materials and interrogation reports.

Representatives of the parliamentary majority said the investigation will be brought to an end and all of the perpetrators will be punished.
