Georgia, like many other countries, is interested in Russia's quick entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) by late 2011, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said today at a traditional briefing.

"The possibility of Russia's joining the WTO depends on how Moscow will behave in negotiations," she said .

Five rounds of the Russian-Georgian negotiations on Russia's joining the WTO brokered by Switzerland so far have ended in failure.

Kalandadze said Georgia once again raised the question about the transparency of trade on the Abkhaz and South Ossetian sections of the Georgian-Russian border.

"The Georgian side does not speak about the details of the talks, like others, but we are ready for international control over these frontiers," she said.
