Georgian MPs put up fight

Georgia, Tbilisi, Sept.27 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia /

A fight occurred in the Georgian parliament on Tuesday.

A representative of the parliamentary majority Akakiy Bobokhidze punched Petre Mamradze, party representative of former Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli's party "Unity in the Name of Democracy," in the face.

Mamradze made a statement during a parliamentary session from the tribune on Sept. 27, the Day of fall of Sukhumi and loss of Abkhazia, blaming Saakashvili for the August 2008 events.

Mamradze had not completed his speech before Bobokhidze ran up and punched him in his face. Other MPs interjected, dragging aside an enraged Bobokhidze from Mamradze.
The situation was ameliorated and the victims received medical attention.
