A regular meeting of the Mechanism of incident prevention and response is held in the area of the territorial conflict in Georgia today. During the meeting the situation in the conflict zone and issues of mutual interest was discussed, the sides said after the meeting.

The Ossetian side raises the question of disappeared Ossetians, who, according to their data, are kept in Georgia, Merab Chigoev the Tskhinvali official said. Tskhinvali, is demanding the return of these people, traces of which have not yet been found. Tbilisi denies any involvement of their intelligence in the abduction of more than a dozen people.
Shota Utiashvili the head of information-analytical department of Georgian Interior Ministry said in turn that the Georgian side demands the release of all the citizens of Georgia, who were arrested for crossing the so-called South Ossetian border.

"Giorgi Gurgenishvili and Paata Javakhishvili were kidnapped from the Odzisi village of the Dusheti district on Oct.11. We demanded to release them, and the South Ossetian side agreed to consider this issue," he said.

Georgian, Russian sides, representatives of Tskhinvali, as well as the EU observer mission, the UN and the OSCE traditionally participate in the meeting in the village of Dvan.
The next meeting of the Mechanism of prevention of tension will be held on December 21, after the sides will meet in the Geneva process on December 14.

The Geneva negotiations were convened after the armed conflict in Georgia in August 2008 in accordance with the ceasefire agreement of August 12.

Large-scale war actions began in South Ossetia, the territory of Georgia, on August 8, 2008. Later on, Russia troops occupied the area and withdrew Georgian military. At the end of that August, Russia recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia's independence. In a response, Tbilisi broke diplomatic relations with Moscow and declared the two non-recognized republics occupied territories.
