Georgian sailors released from Somali pirates’ captivity to arrive in Kenyan Mombasa Port

A ship with Georgian sailors on board, who were released from Somali pirates' captivity, will arrive in the Kenyan Port of Mombasa on Thursday. As Georgian Maritime Transport Administration told Trend, armed Bulgarian special forces escort the ship.

In addition to Georgian sailors, Turkish crew members of a captive tanker are on board of the ship.

As Georgian captain Memed Zakaradze told journalists over phone, the health state of all crew members is satisfactory. They will undergo a medical examination immediately after arriving in Kenya.

A delegation of representatives from Georgian interior, health and foreign ministries, headed by Deputy Economy Minister Giorgi Karbelashvili expects the released sailors at the port.

An aircraft of Airzena Airline will depart from Tbilisi to Kenya with a special flight to return the sailors to Batumi.
