The meeting under the Incident Prevention in the Caucasus in Dvani (area of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict) was held in a constructive and cooperative manner, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) said today.

Representatives of Georgia, Russia, Tskhinvali, the EU and OSCE took part in the 19th meeting under the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism.

Participants reviewed recent incidents and detentions, the fate of those who remain in prison, and the exchange of detainees.

There was also a discussion about the situation concerning missing persons.

It was agreed that the next meeting will take place on Feb 21, 2012.

Military actions were launched in the Georgian territory, South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later the Russian troops occupied the Tskhinvali city and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognized republics as the occupied territories.
