Georgia offers subsidies to local airlines to carry out domestic flights, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Vera Kobalia said on Thursday on the sidelines of the Georgian-South Korean business forum.
Kobalia responded to the problems that have emerged in the Airzena Airline. According to Kobalia, she has met with Airzena's founder several times.
"He knows our position concerning the fact that we have an open business environment, and any airline, Georgian and foreign, has the ability to compete with any other company. We want to help Georgian companies as much as possible. We thus suggested being involved at the level of subsidies to carry out local flights because we understand that local flights have to be subsidized," the minister said.
