Captain of the Kittiwake ship, under the flag of the Marshall Islands, who was detained in Georgia for sea pollution, has paid the fine, the Georgian Border Police said.

The ship then got the right of free navigation.

According to police, a Sri Lankan citizen Mara Dolofilipe Hatmasiri paid a fine imposed by the Batumi court of 65,000 lari ($1 = 1.65 lari) and paid damages of 374 laris.

Georgian border guards detained a vessel as a result of water pollution in the Batumi port area. According to the Georgian Border Police, the cargo ship released the hydraulic fluid near Batumi's seventh berth.
