October elections are crucial for Georgia's Euro-Atlantic Integration, head of the U.S interagency delegation, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Thomas Melia said at a press conference in Tbilisi on Wednesday.

"U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked us to say hello to the Georgian people," he said. "Our delegation arrived here to emphasize the need for a democratic electoral sphere that will help the Georgian people on October 1 to make a choice."

Melia said that at all the meetings they asked the government and the opposition for the electoral legislation to be carried out impartially.

"We believe that establishing a dynamic democracy does not end on election day," he said.
