A new free industrial zone is being established in Kulevi, Georgia (in the west) after Kutaisi and Poti, head of the strategic development agency Iva Davitaia told Radio "Kommersant" on Friday.

A new free industrial zone is being established in Kulevi, Georgia (in the west) after Kutaisi and Poti, head of the strategic development agency Iva Davitaia told Radio "Kommersant" on Friday.

The main purpose of Kulevi free industrial zone is to create a favorable sphere for investors and new jobs.

"SOCAR Georgia Investment" (SOCAR's unit) will construct a free industrial zone in the territory of 600,000 square meters.

Davitaia said that "SOCAR Georgia Investment" must coordinate a strategic plan for the development of a free industrial zone in Kulevi with the Economy Ministry by late 2013, and commission it from 2014.

The industrial zone is established for 99 years.
