Georgia participates in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, and this issue will not be reconsidered, candidate for the foreign minister of Georgia Maya Panjikidze said.
She stressed that it isn't planned to do any fundamental changes in the foreign policy of the country.
"The integration into NATO and the European Union remains a priority issue, and these are issues on which we will consult with the current government, in order not to hurt the interests of Georgia. Our representatives have participated in meetings in Geneva, and will participate in the meetings in Brussels next week. I think that these will be the issues on which we can agree," Maya Panjikidze said.
A Georgian military died in Afghanistan on Thursday. This is the 18th Georgian soldier who was killed in the NATO mission in Afghanistan.
