Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has today officially begun working in the state office. He told media this morning that the schedule for his first working day is very intensive.

"I have several meetings in the morning," Ivanishvili said. "First, I will meet with the leader of the parliamentary majority David Saganelidze, then Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze, Agriculture Minister David Kiravlidze and Defence Minister Irakli Alasania. I will also meet with the U.S. ambassador at 13:00."

He said that a working session of the government will be held after the meetings.

"We must complete equipping all ministries and approve the candidacies of all deputy ministers," he said. "Afterwards, a plan of urgent tasks will be drawn up. This will take about two weeks."

He added that he may pay his first official visit abroad either to Europe or to the U.S. in two weeks.

The Georgian Parliament has approved the candidacy of the Prime Minister and the new government on October 25. Ivanishvili held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kutaisi on the same day to discuss urgent issues.
