Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili does not rule out his meeting with Russian top officials at the Economic Forum in Davos.
"Meetings with the Russian government representatives in Davos are not planned yet. Since the meeting is to be held at the highest level and it should be planned. My representative is working on this issue, and I do not rule out that this meeting may take place," Ivanishvili said.
Military action was launched in the Georgian region of South Ossetia on Aug.8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August of that year.
