Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 6 / Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /
The National Movement addressed Parliament with an initiative to constitutionally fix Georgia's unchanged foreign policy.
The author of the bill, which confirms the country's policy of integration into existing EU and NATO policy of non-recognition and inclusion, the unacceptability of the presence of Russian troops on the Georgian territory and the inadmissibility of the country's joining post-Soviet organizations, is Giorgi Baramidze.
According to a note to the bill, the purpose of adopting the law is to reiterate the country's desire to join the European and Euro-Atlantic organizations and to fix the immutability of this course by the law.
"However, it is necessary to create legal guarantees that Georgia will continue its policy of non-recognition of the occupied territories and will never be a member of these organizations, where Russia is a dominant country," a note said.
The minority offers this legislative initiative to majority for supporting the constitutional amendments.
