Rustavi city court released four senior officials of Tbilisi City Hall. Court said that they were detained with procedural violations, and therefore the arrest was canceled.
On Friday night, financial police of Georgian Ministry of Finance detained four employees of Tbilisi City Hall. They were accused of embezzlement of 48,930,822 lari ($ 1 = 1.65 lari).
Financial police arrested the deputy mayor of Tbilisi David Alavidze, chairman of the Development Fund of Tbilisi David Avaliani, head of procurement of Tbilisi Alexi Tabuashvili and deputy head of the Tbilisi district Krtsanisi Dmitry Chkheidze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava said that the detention is the policy of persecution of the leaders of the United National Movement, whose members are all detainees.
