Progress in the investigation of former Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania's death creates grounds for optimism, Prosecutor General of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili said.

The investigation has established or is establishing new circumstances, Kbilashvili said on Friday, on Channel 9. However, for the benefits of the investigation, he did not specify details.

"The investigation's dynamics and those investigation actions, that we carry, give reason for optimism, that we will resolve the case and learn what really happened," the Prosecutor General said.

According to the official version, Zhvania died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
