The European Union will allocate 27 million euros ($37 million) for Georgia to assist the country in labour market management and improvement of links between education and the market demands.
The funds will be allocated as part of the Eastern Partnership Integration and Cooperation (EaPIC) programme. Additional funds within the programme that was launched in 2012 are allocated for those Eastern Partnership countries, which implement more reforms from the point of view of democracy.
As part of this program Moldova received 35 million euros ($48 million) and Armenia got 25 million euros ($34 million).
Last year Moldova received 28 million euros ($38 million), Georgia received 22 million euros ($30 million) and 15 million euros ($20 million) were allocated for Armenia.
"This year's award was given to three eastern partners for their efforts in democratic breakthrough and for the loyalty to fundamental freedoms. We hope that this group of countries will expand in the future," European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy," Stefan Fule said.
