Georgia will continue its policy of normalizing relations with Russia, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili told Imedi TV Channel.
"Georgia will do everything to lower the political tension between the two countries. Georgian - Russian dialogue in the format of Abashidze - Karasin meetings has not exhausted itself and will continue", - Margvelashvili said.
Georgian President added, that he is pleased with this format, noting that it provides good results.
"Direct dialogue in this format allowed to restore and develop trade, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. These talks will help to establish a sufficiently high level of trust between the two countries and background for settlement of many important issues," - the President noted.
