The criminal liability for violation of privacy, particularly for illegal videotaping of personal life is being toughened in Georgia, Georgian Interior Minister Alexander Chikaidze said at a governmental meeting on Feb. 13.
The relevant amendments will be made to the Criminal Code.
"The personal life has been illegally shot," he said. "The violation of the relevant law envisaged the criminal prosecution only for three years. But the period will be increased from three to seven years, according to the new amendments.
