Georgia is preparing to become a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).

Georgian foreign minister, Maia Panjikidze and the PCA secretary-general, Hugo Siblesz discussed the country's upcoming accession to this institution.

Their meeting was held in New York, U.S. as part of the 69th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry of Georgia said Sept. 25.

"This year we started the procedure for accession to the court. In July, we sent all [relevant documents] to Georgia's parliament, and I hope the parliament will soon consider this issue and take a positive decision," Minister Panjikidze said.
