Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili made a statement Oct.1 due to the second anniversary of the victory of the "Georgian Dream" ruling party on the parliamentary election Oct. 1, 2012.

Two years ago the Georgian people said "no" to violence and made their choice in favor of democracy, Garibashvili said.

"Georgian people chose to live without fear, people chose the perspective for each person, moving forward, development and well-being on Oct.1," Garibashvili said.

"Our people won victory of Oct. 1 at the cost of a big fight, and believe me, this fight was not easy. So I want to appeal to our people and once again express my gratitude for the support it had expressed for our political force October 1, 2012 - for the "Bidzina Ivanishvili - Georgian Dream" coalition. I want to express my sincere admiration with the determination, dedication and heroism of our people. This victory would not be without the support of the people of Georgia."

Bidzina Ivanishvili, who managed to unite the opposition forces and ensure a peaceful outcome of the election made the main contribution to the victory on the 2012 election, he said.
