By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

The Georgian Energy Development Fund has completed the feasibility study of the first wind farm construction project in the country.

The fund intends to sign an agreement with the Belgian Tractebel Engineering company to render the advisory services.

The agreement envisages the preparation of tender documentation required for the purchase of turbines and construction work as part of the project, the fund told Trend.

However, the Belgian side will monitor the construction and operation of the wind power for two years after its commissioning.

The construction of the first wind farm in Georgia with a capacity of 20 MW will begin in 2015.

The construction project will be implemented at the state expense. Its investment cost is $ 30 million.
