One of the leaders of Free Democrats party, which went over to the opposition, Zurab Abashidze on Feb.19 was dismissed from his post of vice-speaker of the Georgian parliament.

Speaker Davit Usupashvili briefed MPs on a statement of the parliamentary majority. The Parliament took note of decision of the majority.

Zurab Abashidze was promoted to the post of vice-speaker namely by the members of the ruling coalition Georgian Dream.

Vacant position will be taken by the leader of People's Forum party (part of the ruling coalition Georgian Dream) Gubaz Sanikidze.
