Georgia increases volume of crude oil refining

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 30

Georgia’s volume of refining of crude oil from January through September 2021 amounted to 28,932 tons, which is an increase of 44.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports via the Union of Oil Products Importers of Georgia.

According to the statistics, Georgian refineries produced 19,995 tons of crude oil over the first 9 months of 2020.

The TOP-6 oil products processed by Georgia’s refineries (Jan. through Sept. 2021) compared to 2020:

Diesel – 12,651 tons (increase of 49.9 percent);

Fuel oil – 12,426 tons (increase of 96.7 percent);

Gasoline – 6,401 tons (decrease of 31.9 percent);

Oil – 3,033 tons (an increase of 68.7 percent);

Bitumen – 356 tons (not produced during the same period of 2020);

Bitumen emulsion – 501 tons (not produced during the same period of 2020).

Georgian gasoline and diesel fuel production over the first 9 months of 2021 amounted to 19,053 tons, which is 2.2 percent of imported and produced gasoline and diesel fuel.

The produced gasoline accounted for 1.4 percent of the imported and produced gasoline, while diesel fuel amounted to 3 percent of the imported and produced diesel fuel.
