According to revised estimates, Georgia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to 49.26 billion Georgian lari ($15.8 billion) in 2020, compared to 49.25 billion Georgian lari ($17.4 billion) in 2019, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Georgia’s real GDP in 2020 has decreased by 6.8 percent, compared to 5 percent growth in 2019, while the GDP deflator percentage change equaled 7.3 percent (5.2 percent in 2019).
GDP per capita in the reporting period amounted to $4.2 billion, compared to $4.6 billion in 2019, the report said.
Economic sectors with largest shares in total Georgia’s GDP in 2020:
Trade (14.8 percent);
Real estate activities (11.7 percent);
Manufacturing (10.7 percent);
Construction (8.7 percent);
Agriculture, forestry and fishing (8.3 percent);
Public administration (7.5 percent);
Transportation and storage (6.1 percent);
Financial and insurance activities (5.1 percent);
Education (4.9 percent).
Georgia’s real GDP growth in 2020 was registered in:
Agriculture, forestry and fishing – 8.1 percent;
Education – 8.6 percent;
Mining and quarrying – 12.4 percent;
Public administration – 2.3 percent;
Human health and social work activities – 2.8 percent;
Information and communication – 2.6 percent.
