Georgia’s total income from foreign visitors from January through October 2021 amounted to more than $1 billion, which is an increase of 94.4 percent, compared to $514.3 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
According to the data, the total income in October 2021 amounted to $142.3 million, which is a decrease of 12.1 percent, compared to $161.9 million in September 2021.
However, the same figure significantly increased by 836.1 percent, compared to October 2020, when Georgia received $15.2 million from international visitors.
TOP-8 countries (country groups) with largest amount of money spending in Georgia (Jan. through Oct. 2021):
Ukraine – $146.5 million;
Russia – $120.4 million;
Turkey – $93.5 million;
Israel – $65.8 million;
Azerbaijan – $33.5 million;
Armenia – $20.5 million;
Saudi Arabia – $9.5 million;
Addition: the EU – $144.1 million.
Meanwhile, the number of international visitors to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to 1.5 million visitors, which is a decrease of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.6 million over the same period of 2020.
