Georgia’s trade turnover with Russia from January through October 2021 amounted to $1.29 billion, compared to $1 billion over the same period of 2020 – an increase of 29 percent year-on-year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
However, Russia’s share in total Georgian trade turnover slightly decreased by 0.2 percent year-on-year – to 11.4 percent, the report said.
According to Geostat, Georgia's exports to Russia over the first 10 months of 2021 amounted to $481.8 million, which is an increase of 37.2 percent, compared to $351.1 million over the same period of 2020.
Georgia's imports from Russia from January through October 2021 totaled $812.1 million – an increase of 14.4 percent, compared to $709.8 million over the reporting period of 2020.
Russia remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian trade turnover partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside Turkey ($1.6 billion) and China ($1.22 billion).
Meanwhile, Georgian total foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) from January through October 2021 amounted to $11.3 billion, which is 23 percent more than over the same period of 2020 – $9.1 billion.
