Liabilities of Georgia's commercial banks increase

The liabilities of Georgia’s commercial banks in October 2021 totaled 52.2 billion Georgian lari ($16.7 billion), Trend reports via statistical data of National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The current index increased by 1.9 percent, compared to $51.2 billion Georgian lari ($16.4 billion) in September 2021, the report said.

According to the NBG, the liabilities of Georgian commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 also increased by 8.2 percent, compared to 48.2 billion Georgian lari ($15.4 billion) in October 2020.

Meanwhile, the demand deposits of commercial banks of Georgia in October 2021 amounted to 20.6 billion Georgian lari ($6.6 billion), which is an increase of 1.4 percent, compared to 20.3 billion Georgian lari ($6.5 billion) over the previous month of 2021.

The same figure also increased by 21.1 percent, compared to 17 billion Georgian lari ($5.4 billion) in October 2021.

The term deposits of the Georgia’s commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 totaled 15.7 billion Georgian lari ($5 billion), which is an increase of 3.2 percent, compared to 15.2 billion Georgian lari ($4.8 billion) in September 2021, and the same amount in October 2020.
