Georgia’s persimmon exports continue to increase

The export volume of Georgia’s persimmons as of December 5, 2021, amounted to 10,600 tons, Trend reports via publication of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The export value of Georgia’s persimmons over the reporting period of 2021 totaled $5.3 million, the ministry said.

According to the report, the largest volume of persimmons produced in the reporting period of 2021 was mainly exported to Armenia (4,550 tons), Russia (3,574 tons), Ukraine (2,262 tons), Turkey (108 tons), Kazakhstan (62 tons), and Moldova (39 tons).

Meanwhile, based on the previous statistics, Georgian exports of persimmons from September 1 through November 28, 2021, amounted to 10,100 tons, while the value of exports totaled $5.1 million.

The main importers of Georgian persimmons were again Armenia (4,165 tons), Russia (3,501 tons), Ukraine (2,230 tons), Turkey (108 tons), Kazakhstan (62 tons), and Moldova (39 tons).
