Georgia’s export of spices remains steady - Geostat

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 7

Georgia’s export of spices from January through October 2021 slightly increased, compared to $8.8 million over the same period of 2020, and amounted to $8.9 million, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The export volume of Georgian spices has not changed over the reporting period of 2021, compared to the first 10 months of 2020, and totaled 4.1 million tons.

TOP-5 importers of Georgia’s spices (Jan. through Oct. 2021):

Russia – $3.6 million (1.5 million tons);

Chine – $2.1 million (1.1 million tons);

Ukraine – $1 million (513,450 tons);

the US – $961,770 (197,140 tons);

Armenia – $159,450 (69,060 tons).

Meanwhile, total Georgia’s exports from January through October 2021 amounted to $3.3 billion – an increase of 24.9 percent, compared to $2.7 billion in the same period of 2020.
