Georgia’s exports of persimmons slightly increase

The export volume of Georgia’s persimmons from September 1 through December 19, 2021, amounted to 11,700 tons – an increase of 5 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports via publication of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The export value of Georgia’s persimmons over the reporting period of 2021 increased by 0.2 percent and totaled $5.9 million, the ministry said.

According to the report, the largest volume of persimmons produced in the reporting period of 2021 was mainly exported to Armenia (5,492 tons), Russia (3,752 tons), Ukraine (2,285 tons), Turkey (108 tons), Kazakhstan (62 tons), and Moldova (39 tons).

Meanwhile, based on the previous statistics, Georgian exports of persimmons from September 1 through December 5, 2021, amounted to 10,600 tons, while the value of exports totaled $5.3 million.

The main importers of Georgian persimmons were again Armenia (4,550 tons), Russia (3,574 tons), Ukraine (2,262 tons), Turkey (108 tons), Kazakhstan (62 tons), and Moldova (39 tons).
