BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. The number of payment cards transactions in Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 42.5 million, which is an increase of 15.8 percent, compared to 36.7 million transactions over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also increased by 1.1 percent, compared to 42 million transactions in January 2022, the report said.
The value of total payment cards transactions in Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 totaled 3.8 million Georgian lari ($1.2 million), which is an increase of 26.6 percent, compared to 3 million Georgian lari ($973,351) over the same month of 2021. The same figure also increased by 5.5 percent, compared to 3.6 million Georgian lari ($1.16 million) in January 2022.
Meanwhile, the number of payment cards transactions within Georgia in February 2022 amounted to 39.4 million, while the value of transactions totaled 3.5 million Georgian lari ($1.12 million).
The number of payment cards transactions outside Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 amounted to 3.1 million, while the value of transactions totaled 290,576 Georgian lari ($93,734).
