BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 4. In Georgia, the total number of credit cards in use in March 2022 doubled over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia.
The number of credit cards in circulation in Georgia reached 827,966 in March 2022 - an increase of 50.8 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (548,730). The same figure also increased by 41.4 percent, compared to February 2022 (585,326).
According to the NBG, the volume of EC/MC credit cards in March 2022 amounted to 107,532, which is a decrease of 19.3 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 (133,390), and 0.2 percent, compared to February 2022 (107,815).
The number of VISA credit cards in March 2022 amounted to 170,708 - a decrease of 11 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (191,810).
Meanwhile, the total number of plastic cards in circulation in Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 6.8 million.
