TBILISI, Georgia, August 17. Georgia and Israel will start negotiations on free trade between the two countries in 2024, announced Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trend reports.
"As part of my official visit to Israel, it was a pleasure to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu. We discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. Next year we intend to start free trade negotiations. Meanwhile, our economic, defense and security relations continue to strengthen. I express my gratitude to Israel for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Garibashvili said in a message posted on X (Twitter).
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Georgia and Israel amounted to
$38.4 million in 2022, which is an increase of 22.8 percent
year-on-year.
