Turkey expects 5 million Russian tourists in 2017

Turkey expects to receive five million tourists from Russia in 2017, said Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Huseyin Yayman at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT), the Anadolu Agency reported.
Yayman also praised the indicators of early reservation of Russian tourists.
There are historically strong cultural relations between Turkey and Russia, he noted adding that Turkey aims to develop these relations.
The deputy minister recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a vacation in Antalya and recommended a holiday in this tourism region of Turkey.
In 2016, 25,352,213 foreigners visited Turkey that is by 30.05 percent less than in 2015.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a big number of foreigners – 3,890,074 people came to Turkey from Germany in 2016. Germany is followed by Georgia (2,206,266 people) and the United Kingdom (1,711,481).
In total, tourists spent $22.1 billion in Turkey in 2016.
