Giant fright for about 40 children on the way to school: their bus crashed into a truck, threw it on a meadow, Bild reports.
At 7.30 am the fully occupied school bus drove on the B212 coming from Elsfleth (Lower Saxony) to Brake. In the city, the bus wanted to turn left - and was, according to police overlooked by a pickup truck.
The van crashed into the bus. The impact threw it off the road and came to a halt in a meadow.
The driver of the van was jammed in his vehicle and had to be released by the fire department. According to police, he suffered life-threatening injuries and came with a rescue helicopter to the hospital.
The uninjured children and adolescents were taken to the fire department technical center in Brake. The police: "There they are looked after by a teacher and re-examined by a doctor."
The police now determine the exact accident.
