Turkey's export of leather goods down

Export of leather goods from Turkey to world markets made up $415.2 million from January through March 2020, which is 5.4 percent less compared to the same period of last year, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on April 7.

According to the ministry, Turkey’s export of leather goods makes up 1 percent of the country’s total export from January through March 2020.

“In March 2020, Turkey exported leather goods worth $130.2 million to world markets, which is 26 percent less compared to the same month of 2019,” the ministry said.

Turkey’s export of leather goods in March 2020 made up 1 percent of the country’s total export.

“Over the last 12 months, from March 2019 through March 2020, Turkey has exported leather goods worth $1.6 billion,” the ministry added.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in February 2020 exceeded $32.2 billion.

In February 2020, export from Turkey increased by 2.3 percent compared to February 2019, exceeding $14.6 billion.

Turkey's import increased by 9.8 percent in February 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 and exceeded $17.6 billion.
