BAKU. Azerbaijan. August 26. A clash between police and local residents took place in the commune of Tarn in France, Trend reports.

Residents damaged construction equipment and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at police in protest against the construction of the Toulouse-Castro highway. Police used tear gas against the disgruntled crowd, and one person was arrested.

The construction of the A69 Toulouse-Castres motorway has caused serious discontent among environmentalists and scientists. In their opinion, this road will lead to the destruction of arable land and green spaces, a decrease in groundwater levels and a disruption of the moisture balance.

It should be noted that in previous months there had been clashes between protesters and police over the construction of the road.
