Iraqi police say a suicide bomber has blown himself up in front of a Shiite mosque in northern Iraq, killing two civilians and wounding 15, reported AP
Police chief Col. Awad Kahlil says the attacker set off the blast Friday in Sinjar, a town in Nineveh province about 85 miles west of Mosul.
Sinjar's district commissioner, Dakhil Qassim, says 2 of the wounded are in critical condition.
Security in Iraq has improved dramatically, though Sunni insurgents remain active around Mosul after suffering setbacks in urban strongholds elsewhere in the country.
