Seventeen people were killed in Syria during clashes between protesters and security forces on Friday, the Al Arabiya TV channel said.
Anti-government riots in Syria began in Deraa on March 25.
About 1,400 people were killed. According to the UN, the death toll has reached 2,600 people.
The opposition demands President al-Assad's resignation and political reforms in the country.
The opponents of the regime formed the Syrian Transitional National Council as the opposition body.
