Confusion marked Monday the fate of the Egyptian government as reports indicated that the military council has accepted the resignation of the government while others said it is still studying the issue, dpa reported.
An Egyptian member of the military council was quoted by Egyptian media as saying that "the council has not decided yet if it will accept the resignation and it is still studying the issue and it won't accept it until it agrees on a new premier to head the new government."
Meanwhile, Egyptian sources told al Jazeera television earlier that the military council has accepted the resignation, following three days of clashes between protesters and police that left 33 people dead.
