Deep divisions overwhelmed meetings Tuesday among the 250 Syrian opposition figures gathered in Cairo to negotiate a transitional period in Syria, a source attending the conference told dpa.
"No agreement has been reached so far to issue a final statement. We are hoping to solve the obstacles," the source said without providing details.
Under the auspices of the Arab League, the two-day conference opened Monday in the Egyptian capital to forge a common vision for transition in Syria after the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Arab League have been urging the opposition to end their quarrels in order to gain credibility in the West.
