Five people were killed when gunmen stormed the offices of two television channels in Iraq on Monday, after a series bombings outside the building, security officials said.
There were three suicide bombings and a car bombing outside the building housing the Salah al-Din satellite channel in Tikrit city, which lies about 170 kilometres north of Baghdad, dpa reported.
A journalist, director and three other employees at the station were killed. Three people were wounded.
The channel's transmission was halted as gunmen set fire to the building. Police were able to take control of the building after clashes with the gunmen.
Gunmen also attacked the adjacent building housing the state-run al-Iraqiya channel.
