Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, has said that the International Government Communication Forum, IGCF 2019, has become a key regional platform for developing effective communication strategies, supporting the government’s efforts, and achieving sustainable community development, Trend reports citing wam.ae.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency, WAM, he said that the eighth edition of the IGCF, which began today with the participation of international government communication experts, under the slogan, 'Behavioural Change Towards Human Development’, confirms the importance of government communication, as an influential development tool, to changing the behaviour of individuals and helping them make positive changes to their communities.
He added that the UAE’s experience in government communication is inspiring and focusses on people while highlighting the key role of the government communication sector in involving the entire community in the development process.
Regarding the environmental sector and government communication, Dr. Al Zeyoudi stressed that government communication play a key role in achieving sustainability, raising the awareness of the community about various environmental issues, and motivating them to support the country’s sustainability efforts.
He also expressed his happiness at participating in IGCF 2019 in Sharjah while stressing that the government communication sector has acquired significant importance, in light of the latest technological developments.
Sharjah launched the inaugural edition of the forum in 2012. A first-of-its-kind event, the forum aims to build a platform for better communication between governments and their stakeholders, to support the government of Sharjah towards creating a participatory dialogue, and to develop government communication mechanisms for the benefit of government institutions in the UAE and the region.
