( dpa ) - An alleged Islamic terrorist cell rounded up by Spanish authorities was planning a suicide attack against a train or bus in Barcelona, according to arrest warrants released Wednesday in Madrid.

Police arrested 12 Pakistanis and two Indians Saturday in central Barcelona on suspicion of involvement in the alleged cell.

Spanish investigating Judge Ismael Moreno issued warrants Wednesday in Madrid to keep 10 of the suspects in custody pending further investigation. Moreno freed two men Wednesday, and two others were released earlier by police.

Three of the suspects were "potential suicide attackers," Moreno found. They were planning a strike against a Barcelona public transportation target on the weekend of the police raids.

The men have denied any involvement in terrorism, while police claim to have seized bomb-making materials in the apartment of one of the suspects.
